Members of Voces met for lunch today at Maria's Mexican Kitchen in Santa Fe and had a very enjoyable meal. As usual, there were lots of stories told at the table and some new connections made and old connections remade. I had a conversation with the owner of Mariá's (Al Lucero) and he was kind enought to provide me with a scan of Maria's first menu, circa 1950-1955. He was happy to let us post it here on our website. Thanks, Al!

Iremember those prices. I also remember Dick and Charles Hughes. Fine looking men - both of them. Tragic.

In 1953 I was on a Babe Ruth baseball team with Jimmy Miles. After the games Jimmy's Dad, Wade, would take us to Marias for tamales and a coke. o they still serve tamales?

I worked at Dick Hughes Volkswagen in the late 60s - early 70s. When we had lot duty on Saturday, we would walk over to Maria's for lunch. I always had the Tortilla Burger. Today, for the first time in 40 years, I had one and it was exactly as I remember it.
